The Early Writing screener is a simple developmental check for children aged 2 years and 8 months. It checks if they can distinguish between two symbolic language systems, drawing and writing, a key early literacy milestone. It also identifies if the child needs to be taught symbolic systems (early literacy skills) explicitly, and may provide an early indicator of additional learning needs.
The screener can be used at home or in an early years setting. It comes with instructions how to complete the assessment and upload it to our portal.
